Snitches Snatching Our Sport
THIS POST WAS WRITTEN BY A GUEST BLOGGER - THE VIEWS AND OPINIONS BELOW DO NOT REFLECT THE VIEWS AND OPINIONS OF QUIYK LLC.
Think of a world without snitches in Quidditch.
Think really hard.
Well, at the very least, it means that Harry Potter’s career in the sport is probably far shorter.
However, this is not J.K. Rowling’s Quidditch anymore. Which, of course, is why our game, sport or whatever you call it needs a desperate facelift. I, myself, have envisioned a sport without snitches and I will be the first to tell you that it’s perfect.
Hey guys,
Matt from Quiyk here.
Look, first off, we love Quidditch. The whole point of this company is that we want to see Quidditch succeed. We want to see it get recognition, to be taken seriously.
Our goal is to further the advancement of Quidditch through standardization and legitimization, which we believe we can do through our products.
We know people are upset with us because of the Olympics jersey debacle (I’ll address that sometime in the future, now is not the time and place), and unfortunately this seems to be adding fuel to that fire.
I would like people to understand that this is Benny’s opinion and not Quiyk’s. I am not going to say we do not stand behind Benny, we love him, love playing with him, and think he’s a great writer, and a great person. We have him write for us because he writes stuff like this, the kid holds nothing back. He creates amazing, thought-provoking material that unfortunately can sometimes make people upset.
We know Quidditch would be nothing like how it is if snitches were removed. It’s Quidditch! But, (I’m speaking for Benny here so forgive me if I’m a little off), I think Benny is just trying to get people thinking about the differences between Quidditch and professional sports, the whimsical element of snitches and the involvement of a 3rd party team forever will set Quidditch apart from other sports, in both a positive and negative way.
I’m going to sign off here, but I want to continue the conversation. But most importantly, I want people to know Quiyk is not here to destroy or change the way Quidditch is known or played. We want to put Quidditch on the map and support the community in whatever way we can through our products. As an avid Quidditch player myself, I want to continue to see it grow and develop, this is just my way of helping it along.
Thanks for supporting Quiyk and contributing to the conversation, but that’s all this is, a conversation, just talking about the sport we all love.
